what is the difference between sports and recreational sports?

- I think everyone has their own opinion on what the difference is.
My opinion is "Sports" is played by professionals. They get paid big bucks to perform and have to really stay in shape for the sport they play.
"Recreational Sports" is more along the lines of "pick-me-up" games. Amateur leagues, although they really try to win, is still "recreational" as far as I am concerned.
In other words, "non-paying" sports as Pool Leagues, Dart Leagues, Shuffleboard, Horse-shoes, Whiffle Ball, Corkball, playground basketball, etc.
But again, those are my opinions. Others will put their own spin on the difference.
